Ensombl Terms of Use
Effective date: 27 August 2026
Version: 1.0
These Terms of Use explain the rules for using Ensombl.
Ensombl is a professional community and content platform for people working in and around financial advice and financial services. Some parts of Ensombl are public. Other parts are available only to registered members or approved users.
Please read these Terms together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.
1. Who we are
The Platform is operated by Ensombl Pty Ltd (ABN 45 606 168 781, ACN 606 168 781).
Email: contact@ensombl.com
In these Terms, Ensombl, we, us and our mean Ensombl Pty Ltd.
2. What these Terms cover
These Terms apply when you access or use any Ensombl website, app, account, community, content channel or public-facing service that links to them.
This includes current and future Ensombl services connected with the financial advice and financial services community, such as:
- professional profiles and member accounts;
- Q&A, discussions, posts, comments and community features;
- articles, editorial, Studio content, podcasts, video and newsletters;
- education, continuing professional development, events and training;
- surveys, research, insights, benchmarking and reports;
- job, talent, organisation, provider, product and professional directories;
- search, discovery, referrals, introductions and matching;
- sponsored, promoted or partner content;
- software tools, AI-assisted features, recommendations and workflow services;
- public author, organisation and topic pages;
- subscriptions, bookings, applications, transactions or paid services; and
- other Ensombl-branded services that are introduced over time.
We call these websites, apps and services the Platform.
Some optional services may have additional terms or notices. Those apply only to the relevant service and will be made available where needed. If they conflict with these Terms, the additional terms apply to that service.
3. Agreeing to these Terms
When you create a new account, creating the account means you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
If you already have an Ensombl account, including an account migrated from an earlier Ensombl platform, these Terms apply when you continue to access or use the Platform.
You must not use the Platform if you do not agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms to create or use a member account.
If you use the Platform for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to act for that organisation.
4. Your account
You must provide information that is accurate, current and not misleading.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your login details secure;
- not sharing your account with another person;
- telling us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission;
- keeping your profile and contact details reasonably up to date; and
- complying with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.
You may only create or use accounts that belong to you or that you are authorised to manage.
We may merge duplicate accounts, correct obvious errors or ask you to verify information.
Verification
Ensombl may check a person's identity, role, employment, professional relevance, qualifications, licence or regulatory status. We may use public registers, information supplied by the person, information held by Ensombl, information from previous Ensombl systems and information from appropriate third parties.
A verified badge or status means only that Ensombl completed the checks it chose to perform at the relevant time. It is not an endorsement, guarantee or warranty about a person or organisation.
Existing members may be migrated or grandfathered into the replacement Platform without repeating the full onboarding process.
5. Member and public-facing areas
The Platform may contain:
- member-only areas;
- public pages;
- content visible to selected groups;
- private drafts or account information; and
- content supplied or operated with third parties.
The Platform may use settings, labels or other context to indicate the intended audience.
Do not assume that information posted in a member-only area is legally confidential. Access controls reduce who can see it, but other users may copy, record or share information. Do not post client information, personal information about another person, confidential business information or material you are not authorised to disclose.
Some profile, author, organisation, directory or editorial information may be public. The relevant feature may indicate that information is being submitted for public display.
6. Q&A and community content
The Q&A community is designed for professional discussion, collaboration and shared learning.
Community content may include posts, questions, comments, replies, files, templates, calculators, links, images, audio, video and other material.
Community content is not professional advice from Ensombl. It may be incomplete, outdated, incorrect or unsuitable for a particular client or situation.
You remain responsible for:
- checking information before relying on it;
- applying your own professional judgement;
- meeting your legal, regulatory, licensing and professional obligations; and
- obtaining appropriate legal, tax, financial, compliance or other advice where needed.
Ensombl does not supervise every discussion and does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, experience, accuracy or conduct of any user.
7. Editorial and other published content
Ensombl may publish editorial and other content created by:
- Ensombl staff or contractors;
- journalists, hosts and editors;
- members and contributors;
- creators and educators;
- sponsors, providers and other organisations; and
- AI-assisted tools used under human direction.
We may edit content for clarity, style, length, accessibility, formatting, legal risk or consistency with our editorial standards. We are not required to verify every statement or claim.
We may add or change:
- headlines;
- summaries;
- images;
- captions;
- tags;
- links;
- attribution;
- disclosures;
- metadata; and
- publication dates or status.
We may refuse, delay, correct, update, unpublish or remove content.
Sponsored, promoted or partner content may be paid for or supported by a third party. We will label it where required or appropriate. The presence of content, an advertisement, a listing or a link does not mean Ensombl endorses the person, product, service or claim.
8. Content you provide
You keep ownership of the original content you provide, subject to any rights held by other people.
You give Ensombl a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your content for the Platform and Ensombl's connected business activities.
This licence allows Ensombl and the service providers that help us to:
- host, store, back up and technically process the content;
- display and distribute it through the Platform;
- reproduce, format, resize, transcode and adapt it;
- edit it for clarity, style, length, accessibility or publication;
- excerpt, quote, summarise and promote it;
- include it in newsletters, social media, podcasts, video, events and other Ensombl channels;
- use it for search, moderation, recommendations and personalisation;
- analyse it to improve the Platform and understand community needs;
- use it to create research, trends, insights, summaries and other derived material;
- use it to develop, test, train, fine-tune and evaluate AI and automated systems used for the Platform;
- preserve it for security, audit, dispute or legal purposes; and
- sublicense these rights to technology providers and other parties only as needed for those purposes.
The licence continues for as long as reasonably needed for these purposes. If content has been published, shared, included in a conversation or used to create a derived work, we may retain a de-identified version or lawfully retain limited copies where permitted.
Our Privacy Policy explains how account information and content are handled after an account is deleted.
To the extent the law allows, you consent to reasonable editing, formatting, excerpting and attribution changes made for the purposes above.
You confirm that:
- you created the content or have permission to provide it;
- the content does not infringe another person's rights;
- you have obtained any required consent from people shown or identified in it;
- the content is not misleading, unlawful or confidential; and
- Ensombl's permitted use of the content will not breach an agreement you have with someone else.
9. Intellectual property in the Platform
The Platform, its software, design, branding, databases, systems, tools, templates and other materials are owned by or licensed to Ensombl.
You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to access and use the Platform for its intended purposes while you comply with these Terms.
Unless Ensombl gives written permission, you must not:
- copy or reproduce substantial parts of the Platform;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or member information;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to obtain source code;
- bypass security, access controls or usage limits;
- create a competing database or service from Platform content;
- use Ensombl branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation;
- resell or commercially exploit access to the Platform; or
- remove copyright, trade mark or ownership notices.
Normal sharing tools supplied by Ensombl may be used for their intended purpose.
10. Community conduct
The Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.
You must not use the Platform to:
- harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against or intimidate anyone;
- publish defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit or seriously offensive material;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, role or qualifications;
- share confidential, private or client information without authority;
- infringe intellectual property or other legal rights;
- send spam, scrape contact details or make unauthorised commercial approaches;
- publish misleading claims, fake reviews or manipulated engagement;
- upload malware or interfere with the Platform;
- collect information for unlawful surveillance or profiling;
- evade a suspension, restriction or moderation action; or
- do anything unlawful or likely to harm the Platform or its users.
Approved sponsors, partners, publishers and contributors may engage in commercial activity through the channels and permissions supplied by Ensombl.
11. Moderation and enforcement
Ensombl may review, moderate, label, edit, restrict, move, decline, remove or preserve content.
We may also:
- issue a warning;
- reduce the visibility of content;
- restrict a feature;
- suspend or close an account;
- prevent a person from creating another account;
- refer serious conduct to an employer, regulator, platform provider or law enforcement body where lawful and appropriate; or
- take other reasonable steps to protect people, the community or the Platform.
We may act with or without advance notice, depending on the circumstances and subject to applicable law.
You can report content or conduct through the Platform or by emailing contact@ensombl.com.
You may ask us to reconsider a moderation decision. We may review it, but are not required to change it.
12. Technology, AI and service providers
Ensombl uses third-party technology and service providers to operate and improve the Platform.
These providers may help with:
- hosting and data storage;
- software development;
- testing, debugging and support;
- security and fraud prevention;
- content delivery;
- moderation and search;
- analytics and monitoring;
- email and notifications;
- payments;
- AI and automated processing; and
- other operational functions.
The Platform's underlying technology is provided by Buro Built Pty Ltd and may be supported by other providers.
Our Privacy Policy explains how these providers may process personal information, including identifiable production information where reasonably needed to operate, test, troubleshoot, secure and improve the Platform.
13. Partners and third-party services
Ensombl may provide content, events, directories, referrals, opportunities or other services with third parties.
A third party may have its own terms and privacy policy if it directly supplies a service. Relevant third-party terms or notices may apply when you choose to use that service.
If you take an action such as registering, downloading content, applying, enquiring, booking, purchasing or requesting contact, we may share the information reasonably needed to complete that action with the relevant third party.
Ensombl may receive sponsorship, advertising revenue, referral fees, commissions, subscription fees, revenue shares or other commercial benefits.
You are responsible for reviewing a third party's terms before entering a separate agreement with it.
14. Paid services
Some parts of Ensombl are free. Other services may require payment.
Before you buy a paid service, we will provide the key details, including the price, billing period and any important cancellation conditions.
Payments may be handled by a third-party payment provider. Its terms and privacy practices may also apply.
You must provide accurate billing information and pay amounts when due.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Any refund or remedy will be handled in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and any service-specific terms shown to you.
15. Platform availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable Platform, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.
The Platform may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, outages, security issues, third-party failures or events outside our reasonable control.
We may add, change, combine, replace or discontinue features and services. Paid services remain subject to applicable law and any service-specific terms shown to you.
We may move the Platform between technology providers or systems. We may migrate accounts, content, preferences and history to keep the service operating. We may require an operational step such as a password reset.
16. Important disclaimers
Ensombl is not a financial adviser, Australian financial services licensee, legal adviser, tax adviser or compliance adviser merely because it operates the Platform.
Unless a service expressly says otherwise:
- content is general information only;
- content does not take account of a person's objectives, financial situation or needs;
- user and third-party content is not verified or endorsed by Ensombl;
- listings and directories are not recommendations;
- rankings, search results and recommendations may use automated systems and may include sponsored content; and
- you use the Platform and rely on content at your own risk.
You should make your own enquiries and obtain appropriate professional advice before acting.
17. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
To the extent the law permits, Ensombl is not responsible for:
- indirect or consequential loss;
- lost profit, revenue, opportunity, data or goodwill;
- decisions made from user or third-party content;
- the conduct of another user or third party;
- a third-party service, website or payment provider; or
- events outside our reasonable control.
Where the Australian Consumer Law allows us to limit a remedy for services, our liability may be limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the reasonable cost of having them supplied again.
If your unlawful content, conduct or breach of these Terms causes a third-party claim against Ensombl, you may be responsible for the reasonable loss and cost caused by that breach. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by Ensombl.
18. Closing or suspending an account
You may stop using the Platform at any time and may request account deletion through the Platform or by contacting us.
We may restrict, suspend or close an account if:
- the user seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms or the Community Guidelines;
- the account creates a security, legal or safety risk;
- the account is fraudulent, misleading or not professionally relevant;
- we are required to do so by law;
- the service is no longer available; or
- there is another reasonable basis connected with protecting the Platform or community.
We may act immediately or without notice where appropriate. Any notice or process required by law will still apply.
Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to personal information and content after an account is closed or deleted.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Platform, our business, technology or the law.
Updates take effect when published, or on a later date stated in the updated Terms. If applicable law requires notice or fresh agreement for a particular change, we will follow that requirement.
The effective date at the top shows when the current version started.
20. Transfer of the service
Ensombl may transfer these Terms, the Platform or its business to a related company, buyer or successor as part of a restructure, sale or transfer.
Any new operator must continue to handle personal information as required by applicable privacy law.
You cannot transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our written permission.
21. Disputes
Please contact us first if you have a concern so that we have an opportunity to address it.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may propose mediation before starting court proceedings. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or using a regulator, tribunal or other process available by law.
22. General terms
If part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
These Terms, the Community Guidelines and any applicable service-specific terms form the agreement between you and Ensombl for the relevant service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
23. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
You and Ensombl submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and courts that hear appeals from them.

Buro may use generic learnings, models, methods, metrics and improvements across its platform. Other customers do not receive access to identifiable Ensombl member records merely because Buro develops a reusable improvement, unless Ensombl authorises the disclosure or another lawful basis applies.

Emails may contain technologies that tell us whether a message was delivered, opened or clicked. We use this information to operate communications, improve content and measure engagement.
14. Overseas processing
Ensombl, Buro and their providers may process personal information in Australia and overseas.
Overseas processing may occur in the United States and other countries where cloud, software, AI, communications, analytics and support providers operate.
Privacy protections and legal requirements may differ between countries.
We take the steps required by applicable privacy law when personal information is disclosed to overseas recipients.
15. Security and authorised access
We take safeguards that are reasonable in the circumstances to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We take reasonable steps to ensure service providers that handle user information for the Platform protect it consistently with their role, applicable law and the commitments in this Policy.
No online system is completely secure.
Authorised Ensombl and Buro personnel, contractors, systems and AI tools may access production information when reasonably needed for support, testing, troubleshooting, moderation, security, analytics, research or development.
If an eligible data breach occurs, we will respond and notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required by law.
16. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes in this Policy.
The period depends on:
- whether your account remains active;
- the type of information;
- whether content has been published or shared;
- security and fraud-prevention needs;
- legal, tax, insurance and regulatory requirements;
- dispute and enforcement needs;
- backup and disaster-recovery cycles; and
- legitimate research and record-keeping needs.
We may de-identify information rather than delete it where lawful and appropriate.
Backups and logs may keep information for a limited period after it is removed from the live Platform.
17. Account deletion
You can initiate account deletion through the account settings provided in the Platform or by contacting us.
When an account is deleted, we delete the account and take reasonable steps to delete associated personal information and user-generated content, except information we need or are permitted to keep. We may de-identify information where that is permitted and appropriate. Separately commissioned or published editorial content may be handled under any additional terms that apply to that content.
We may retain limited information for:
- legal and regulatory obligations;
- security and fraud prevention;
- financial records;
- resolving disputes;
- enforcing rights;
- documenting consent, acceptance or suppression preferences;
- backups awaiting normal deletion; and
- content or records that have been lawfully de-identified.
Deleting an account does not automatically delete information held independently by a third party that received it through a service you chose to use. You may need to contact that third party directly.
18. Accessing and correcting your information
You may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
- provide access to it;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information; or
We may need to verify your identity.
Privacy law allows us to refuse or limit some requests. If we do, we will explain why where required.
You can update some information directly through your account settings.
19. Complaints
Please contact us if you believe we have mishandled personal information.
Include enough detail for us to understand and investigate the issue.
We will handle the complaint in accordance with applicable privacy law.
If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
20. Rights under other laws
People in some countries may have additional privacy rights, such as rights to object, restrict processing, obtain portability or withdraw consent.
We will respond to those rights as required by the law that applies to Ensombl's handling of the information.
21. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our services, technology, information practices or legal obligations change.
Updates take effect when published, or on a later date stated in the updated Policy. If applicable law requires a particular notice or consent, we will follow that requirement.
The effective date at the top shows when the current version started.

Ensombl Community Guidelines
Effective date: 27 August 2026
Version: 1.0
Ensombl exists to help financial advice professionals learn from each other, share practical experience and improve the profession.
These Guidelines explain the behaviour we expect across Ensombl's Q&A, comments, profiles, editorial, public pages and other community features.
They form part of the Ensombl Terms of Use.
1. Be useful
Aim to make every contribution useful to the community.
Good contributions are:
- relevant to the discussion;
- clear and specific;
- based on real experience or a reliable source;
- honest about uncertainty;
- constructive rather than performative; and
- written with the audience in mind.
It is fine to disagree. Explain why without attacking the person.
2. Be respectful
Treat other people professionally.
Do not:
- harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone;
- discriminate against or demean a person or group;
- publish hateful or sexually explicit material;
- repeatedly target someone after they have asked you to stop;
- reveal personal information to embarrass or harm someone;
- encourage abuse by other users; or
- use insulting or aggressive language that prevents useful discussion.
Criticism of an idea, product, business practice or public claim is allowed when it is relevant and expressed responsibly.
3. Protect clients and confidential information
Do not post information that identifies a client or another person unless you have a clear legal basis and permission to do so.
Remove or change details such as:
- names;
- contact information;
- dates of birth;
- account numbers;
- policy or application details;
- addresses;
- health information;
- family circumstances;
- financial records; and
- unusual facts that could identify someone when combined.
Do not upload confidential employer, licensee, provider or business information without authority.
A member-only area is not a substitute for a confidentiality agreement. Other users may copy or share what they see.
4. Take responsibility for professional claims
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you post.
When discussing technical, regulatory or professional issues:
- distinguish fact from opinion;
- say when information may be outdated;
- link to a source where useful;
- correct material errors when you discover them;
- do not overstate your qualifications or experience;
- do not present general discussion as personal advice to a client; and
- do not encourage another person to breach professional or legal obligations.
Ensombl content is not a substitute for legal, tax, compliance, financial or other professional advice.
5. Respect intellectual property
Only share material you created or are allowed to use.
This includes:
- articles;
- research;
- templates;
- calculators;
- presentations;
- software;
- images;
- audio;
- video;
- transcripts;
- client documents; and
- paid or licensed resources.
When appropriate:
- name the original creator;
- link to the source;
- quote only what is reasonably needed;
- explain any changes you made; and
- follow licence or attribution requirements.
Do not remove watermarks, copyright notices or branding from someone else's work.
6. Be honest about identity and affiliations
Use an account and profile that accurately represent you.
Do not:
- impersonate another person;
- create fake accounts;
- misstate your employer, licence, role or qualifications;
- coordinate fake engagement;
- post fabricated testimonials or reviews; or
- hide a material commercial relationship when it would affect how readers understand your contribution.
If you discuss a product, service or organisation that employs you, pays you or has another material relationship with you, disclose that relationship where it is not already clear.
7. Keep commercial activity in the right place
Ensombl supports approved sponsors, publishers, providers and business contributors. It is not an open prospecting list.
Unless Ensombl has approved the activity or provided a suitable feature, do not:
- send unsolicited sales messages;
- scrape member contact details;
- repeatedly promote a product or service;
- post affiliate links;
- recruit users into unrelated schemes;
- collect leads through misleading content;
- offer inducements for engagement;
- post the same promotional message across multiple discussions; or
- use community data for mass marketing.
You may recommend a product or service when it genuinely answers a question. Be transparent about any interest you have.
Sponsored, partner and promoted content should use the channels, labels and approvals supplied by Ensombl.
8. Use AI responsibly
AI can help draft, summarise, research, tag or improve content. You remain responsible for anything you publish.
When using AI:
- check important facts and sources;
- do not present invented citations or information as real;
- do not upload confidential or client information unless the tool and use are authorised;
- do not use AI to impersonate another person;
- do not use AI to create deceptive reviews, engagement or evidence;
- make a disclosure where AI use is material to understanding the content; and
- comply with your organisation's policies and professional obligations.
Ensombl may use AI to assist moderation, search, recommendations, editing and other Platform functions. Human review may be used where appropriate.
9. Do not publish harmful or unlawful content
Do not use Ensombl to publish or facilitate:
- illegal activity;
- fraud or deception;
- defamation;
- threats or incitement to violence;
- serious harassment;
- child sexual abuse material;
- non-consensual intimate content;
- malware, phishing or credential theft;
- unlawful discrimination;
- privacy violations;
- intellectual property infringement;
- unauthorised surveillance;
- market manipulation;
- bribery or corruption; or
- instructions intended to cause serious harm.
Do not attempt to interfere with the Platform, evade security controls or gain access to information you are not authorised to see.
10. Keep content relevant and readable
Choose the most relevant topic or location for your contribution.
Before posting:
- search for an existing discussion;
- use a clear title;
- provide enough context;
- avoid unnecessary personal information;
- check links and attachments;
- keep formatting readable; and
- remove promotional language that does not help answer the question.
Do not post repetitive, meaningless or deliberately disruptive content.
11. Editorial and public content
Content submitted for editorial or public publication may be reviewed, edited, shortened, expanded, reformatted, fact-checked, tagged or combined with other material.
Ensombl may:
- add a headline, summary, image or disclosure;
- ask for changes;
- decline publication;
- delay or schedule publication;
- correct or update published content;
- label sponsored or partner content;
- use excerpts in newsletters, social media, podcasts or video;
- unpublish or remove content; and
- keep publication and revision records.
Contributors should respond honestly to editorial questions and disclose relevant conflicts.
Paid, commissioned or partner content may also be subject to a separate agreement.
12. Jobs, directories and opportunities
Information in a job, directory, provider, product or opportunity listing must be accurate and not misleading.
Do not:
- post a role or opportunity that does not exist;
- hide material fees or conditions;
- collect information for a different undisclosed purpose;
- discriminate unlawfully;
- impersonate an employer or provider; or
- use an enquiry to send unrelated marketing without an appropriate basis.
Ensombl may edit, reject or remove a listing.
A listing or search result is not an endorsement by Ensombl.
13. Reporting content or conduct
Use the Platform's reporting tools where available. You may also use any blocking or muting tools provided by the Platform.
You can also email contact@ensombl.com.
When making a report:
- identify the content or account;
- explain the concern;
- include relevant context; and
- avoid repeating harmful content more than necessary.
Do not make knowingly false or retaliatory reports.
We may not be able to tell you every detail of an investigation or action involving another person.
14. How moderation works
Ensombl may use people, rules and automated systems to identify and review content or conduct.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- leave the content unchanged;
- add a label or warning;
- ask for an edit;
- move or reduce the visibility of content;
- remove content;
- restrict a feature;
- issue a warning;
- suspend an account;
- close an account;
- prevent a person from returning; or
- refer a serious issue to an employer, regulator, platform provider or law enforcement body where lawful and appropriate.
We may consider factors such as:
- seriousness;
- context;
- likely harm;
- whether the conduct was deliberate;
- previous behaviour;
- willingness to correct the issue; and
- legal, safety and community risks.
Urgent or serious cases may be handled without advance notice.
15. Reviews and appeals
You may ask Ensombl to reconsider a significant moderation decision.
Explain:
- which decision you want reconsidered;
- why you think it was wrong;
- any missing context; and
- what outcome you are requesting.
Ensombl may decide whether and how to review the decision. A request does not guarantee a different result.
16. Changes to these Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines as the community and Platform develop.
Updates take effect when published, or on a later date stated in the updated Guidelines. If applicable law requires a particular notice, we will follow that requirement.
The effective date at the top shows when the current version started.
